ABOUT
SHAKTI
Canadian designed and all hand made by the designer each Shakti
piece is created with a one of a kind touch. Many of Sarah's
designs evolve from her yoga inspired life and Shakti designs
are intended to equally inspire the wearer. When Sarah is not
making jewelry she is practicing yoga and seeking inspiration
from different countries and cultures. The stones Shakti uses
in her designs are carefully selected not just on the basis
of outward attraction, but also for the power or property the
stone may offer to the wearer. Stones have been used for centuries
to heal and bring balance. Shakti wants you to awaken your
potential within.
Sandalwood Malas are inspired by Sarah’s trips to Mysore,
India where she studies yoga with her teacher there. Sandalwood
is purchased from the Government farms in Mysore to support
a continued effort to create plantations. This supports an
effort to reduce the harvest of natural wood resources and
conserves the existing natural resource areas.
Shakti supports the Hill Tribe People maintain a traditional
craft that is passed down from generation to generation. Purchasing
Shakti Thai silver helps sustain a traditional craft and provides
the Hill Tribe People with a reliable source of income.
One of Shakti’s favorite semi-precious stones is Turquoise.
All turquoise is Tibetan unless specified otherwise in the
description supporting the Tibetan refugees in India.
Having just returned from a buying trip to India, Shakti is
excited to expand into the world of precious stones. Sarah
travels around and hand picks the best most unique stones and
pendants she can find, looking for rare cuts and high quality.
Markets and local dealers are a favorite and Shakti support
the local communities at fair trade pricing when travelling
abroad for supplies.
Shakti’s collection is broken down into 4 categories:
Turquoise, Charms, Precious and Limited Edition. The website
photos are updated monthly to showcase Shakti’s ever
changing and current designs. What separates Shakti from other
designers is the time and touch put into finishing each Shakti
piece so it has its own unique touch.
All shakti pieces are hand made by the designer with love!
